چکیده
Abstract. In recent years, the fast construction, expansion and repowering of wind parks have been a major source concern for weather radar community meteorological services. Among others because turbines are extremely tall, reflective, moving objects, which make them interference that is hard to distinguish from echoes therefore difficult filter even more correct. Polarimetric C-Band Doppler measurements enable us analyse understand impact turbine on build up knowledge. The main idea raw IQ-data in order quantify behaviour with scattering. As first step this direction, paper will focus derivation analysis moments such as Reflectivity (Z), Differential (ZDR), Propagation Phase (PHIDP), Mean Velocity (V), Correlation Coefficient (RHOHV). We consider two cases: (i) events precipitation, (ii) without model (WTI). For purpose, Deutscher Wetterdienst (DWD), recorded under aegis project RIWER (Removing Influence Wind Park Echoes Weather Radar Measurements), presented, analysed discussed detail.

Wind observations with Doppler weather radar
Introduction Weather radars are commonly employed for detection and ranging of precipitation, but radars with Doppler capability can also provide detailed information on the wind associated with (severe) weather phenomena. The Royal Netherlands Meteorological Institute (KNMI) operates two identical C-band (5.6 Ghz) Doppler weather radars. One radar is located in De Bilt and the other one is loc...
متن کاملA new approach to wind turbine power generation forecasting, using weather radar data based on Hidden Markov Model
The wind is one of the most important and affecting phenomena and is known as one of the significant clean resources of energy. Apart from other atmospheric parameters, the wind has complex behavior and intermittent characteristics. Local phenomena can be accompanied by the wind, which is strong, non-predicted, and damaging. Weather radars are capable of detecting and displaying storm-related ...
متن کاملWind turbine impact on operational weather radar I/Q data: characterisation and filtering
For the past 2 decades wind turbines have been growing in number all over the world as a response to the increasing demand for renewable energy. However, the rapid expansion of wind turbines presents a problem for many radar systems, including weather radars. Wind turbines in the line of sight of a weather radar can have a negative impact on the radar’s measurements. As weather radars are impor...

Wind turbine clutter has gradually become a concern for the radar community for its increasing size and quantity worldwide. Based on the S-band polarimetric Doppler PARSAX radar measurements, this paper demonstrates the micro-Doppler features and spectral-polarimetric characteristic of wind turbine clutter, the probability distribution functions of different spectralpolarimetric variables. متن کاملQuality Assessment of Weather Radar Wind Profiles during Bird Migration
Wind profiles from an operational C-band Doppler radar have been combined with data from a bird tracking radar to assess the wind profile quality during bird migration. The weather radar wind profiles (WRWPs) are retrieved using the well-known volume velocity processing (VVP) technique. The X-band bird radar performed range–height scans perpendicular to the main migration direction and bird den...
